It was our last Interact General Meeting yesterday :(
My mom said that we’re going to have so many “LASTS” now. Aiyooo.
In my head I still imagine myself to be a 13 year old girl getting ready to go to school.
But we’re 17.
It’s Form5.
And we’re stepping down.
(Or as I like to call it, getting dethroned)
:(A lot of waterworks.

Now to distract you from me looking like a total swine when I cry,
HERE ARE PICTURES OF RESHMIN CRYING.

:(
It’s OVERRRRRRRRRR.

I’ve tried to write this in many ways, but I don’t know how to show you exactly how amazing In Africa’s Shoes was. Which is why it’s been 5days, and still no blogpost. They say a picture speaks a thousand words, but personally I enjoy doing the speaking for myself. I’ve dreamt about our IU countless of times and I have pictured it so well in my mind. But it was more than I imagined it to be, it was so much more better. Despite the rain, the ups and downs, I loved every bit of it.

I’m just going to talk about this based on the timeline from my camera and Marzuqis. Marzuqi is an amazing photographer and if you ever need someone for an event, CALL HIM. His photos are brilliant la. I’m in love with his pixels! You can see it for yourself.

AND HE IS SO AWESOME, THAT I HAVE 600 PHOTOS TO CHOOSE FROM. I wish I could use it ALL but I’m sure I’ll get banned from every server I use if I do that :/

Anywhos, at the IU we displayed the canvas paintings from our auction (: Everyone was whoa’d at how awesome the paintings were and especially how high the bids went (Rm1000 was the highest)

Our principal told us that we’ve taken International Understanding Days to a whole new level (: Never before has Sister Enda and Sister Letitia together with our principal and vice principal attended an Interact Club event. The fact that they actually attended just made everything more real.

And thennn, our gorgeous gorgeous emcee, Melissa Johnson (: My bff back in primary school and without a doubt, the life of the IU!

It was good at first, singing, speeches and then, my speech. I remembered when I was Form1 or Form2, I went for Atthiya Hamids IU Day. And then after that I went for every Interact IU Day, but Atthiya’s speech was the best. So when I was writing mine, I wanted everyone to feel the way I did when I heard her speech. Maybe I was too fast, but I am very very very pleased with my speech (:

Again, oh awesome Sheau Woans boyfriend- Marzuqi, what would we do without you?

And then Tanisha had her step dance performance. This time, with a little twist. They had perfect coordination. And, did I mention that they were BLINDFOLDED? I don’t know how she managed to pull it off, but it was amazing. After the performance, three guests were asked up and they taught them how to do a few steps, even Rotarian Michael (:

Right after the game, Tanishas did her AWESOMEAWESOME second dance. I LOOOOVED the music she used for this! It had the most amazing African feel to it, she’s brilliant la that girl.

We also had the awesome Assunta Military Band percussionists to perform Hakuna Matata and another random song they felt like doing (: (:

DumDumDiDum.
The Walk of Africa. Our fashion show.

I always loved the concept of a fashion show, but I never liked the fact that it was purely entertainment. So this year rather than just colourful costumes, I made sure to remind people what we were all really here for. So I had 10 models with sandwitch boards with pictures and words. Shiva was in charge of that and Sulu was in charge of the costumes. They both did a wonderful job (:

And then, our thank yous.
To everyone who came that day.
All the guests, you guys were AMAZING. You made the room alive.
I can’t even express how grateful I am that all of you came.

 And THAT my dears,
was the dream I had of an amazing IU,
turned into something more than just real.

I’m finally recovered from all the post-IU (insertunkownfeelinghere). We’re still waiting on for the final accounts, but based on our calculations, we almost hit 30k. Which is wayy BEYOND our expectations! Anyways, before I start blogging about the day itself, I have so many things I need to say and so many people I want to thank.

I remember last year when Wai Nee asked me to write an IU proposal, I had no idea what I wanted my IU to be about. Most people just pick themes without no true passion for that cause. I didn’t want mine to be that way. I remember then, the same night I watched the movie The Constant Gardener. That movie ignited this wildfire inside of me. I just cried and cried and cried throughout the movie. And then while crying, I was using my dinosaur laptop and started typing out my proposal. Initially, it was called “Dying Africa”. Because not only the people in Africa are dying, but also the land itself. Day after day, their culture, their colous just fades away with time. In Malaysia, we emphasize how IMPORTANT it is to retain our true identity. In Africa, no one cares ):

I think it was a known fact from the day I got elected IU Director that I wanted my theme to be about Africa. Everyone thought “Dying Africa” was a tad bit too emo so after getting inspired by Sheau Woans Converse 2009 Calendar, we called it “In Africa’s Shoes”.

And then the work began.
And I’m going to thank each and every one of you who turned my little dream into a ginormous reality.

My mom and dad. (and the rest of the family) I know I haven’t been the best student but this was really important to me and knowing that you guys are proud of me, makes a lot of difference. Thanks for believing in me.

Tsen. I know I have a tendency to not grasp the whole picture and I make a lot of mistakes, but you never gave up on me or on our IU! What we did was AMAZING for a bunch of 17yearolds! Not only will this enhance our college applications but I don’t think we will ever forget June20th2009 for the rest of our lives.

Carrie. You are amazing at whatever you do, and without you we wouldn’t have had such awesome games! You are amazing with your resources and your PROSKILLS are undeniable. Despite the fact THOSE IDIOTS didn’t think you were vice president material, well, you proved them wrong now didn’t you? (:

SheauWoan. Thank you for ALL the permission slips and ALL the proposals and ALL the letters and ALL the invitations. Sorry for all the late reports (btw I just sent it all to you (: ) you’re the most efficient and reliable secretary in the HISTORY of efficient and reliable secretaries!

Victoria. Our NEXT secretary. And one of the two form4s I lalalove with all my heart. The images and programme book was uber professional, thanks to you! You helped us show the world that us Assuntarian Interactors are more than just a bunch of pretty faces in grey uniforms, we means business (;

Nicole. Despite everything, I think you proved yourself to be AMAZING at what you do in Interact and you deserve to be on the board. You helped Carrie, Reshmin and Victoria with their work and I love the fact you got it all done in time.

Reshmin. Worlds best fear factor, HANDS DOWN. None of the boys thought Assuntarians would actually conduct a totally gross fear factor, but HAH we proved THEM wrong now didn’t we? I hope you had fun playing with worms and maggots and dead crickets and dead fish.

LiLing. Worlds best IU tshirt, HANDS DOWN! Everyone wants the best piece from our IU, the shirts. A job well done with the shirts, I am going to save this tshirt for my GRANDCHILDREN. More importantly, for the brilliant ideas and everything you’ve contributed to make this IU a success. Despite all the fighting and the whining on both our parts, without you, none of this would have been possible either.

Shalina. The printers are gone, the DVD player is gone, the pendrives are gone. We can conclude that despite how ANNOYINGLY ANNOYING it was to collect the prizes, we managed to have awesome prizes anyways (: You kept me calm throughout this stressfull period and if not for you I would have lost my mind, probably jumped off a building or done something dramatic (knowing me). But you kept us all strong with your annoyingly HAPPY hellos >.> Ily!

Kee Jun & Yew Wing. What would us damsels ever do without you boys? At every Assunta event, when everyone left, you always made sure to stay back and help out. I don’t think I have ever appreciated your friendship as much as I have this year when I realized that we are so lucky to have boys like you watching our backs all the time (: I love the both of you.

Sandra. Despite the conflict, we appreciate your contribution so much. I hope what happened doesn’t affect our friendship cause I don’t intend to stop being friends with you. Your my SandraYellow and I love your buns! :P (HAHAHAHAHA; I AM SO FUNNY; DONT DENY IT!)

Vijay. Thank you for the 700 cans of Pepsi. 50 of which were consumed by yours truly :P If not for you, our guests would have dehydrated and probably died on our field ._. More importantly, thanks for always being there everytime (and I mean EVERYTIME) I was down or stressed or tensed up.

Tanisha. You made the show amazing with your beautiful dances and extraordinary talent! You will make it big in life, and this is what we call and imbas muka (: You’ve performed for IU’s and Installs your whole schoolyear life but this was the highlight of them all because it was the most meaningful and without a doubt, the most beautiful. Thank you.

Sulekha. Oh my angel. I know it was no easy task getting the costumes and the models done. But we beat them all and we made an impact AND carried ourselves gorgeously draped in amazing style. You did a good job and I hope you always continue to be the best you can.

All the Interactors,
well done. (:

Today was the most amazing day in my entire highschool life.

The IU went well. More updates on it once I get sufficient amount of pictures. At first I was majorly stressed out because it was raining in the morning and I didn’t want the rain to affect our carnival.

We were all praying everywhere.
In the field, the gallery, the chapel.
I was in tears, I didn’t want all our hardwork and effort go down the drain.

Sheau Woan sent around a little text “Lets all say a little prayer. Rain rain go away, little Shivani wants to play”

The day started with tears, and sadly, ended with a few too.
Goodnight.

My head hurts, I want to sleep, I want to study, I want to spend time with my family, but I have to make sure the IU is going to be amazing. All these sleepless nights and constant-FOOD-craving will pay off. And I want you guys, my wonderful loyal readers/friends to come and have fun at my International Understanding Day & Carnival.

I have to write a speech. Thank you mom for giving birth to me. Tsen for writing my speech.
I love you guys (:
Can’t wait to see you on Saturday.

Me: Boys are so stupid

YeeHsiong: We are not stupid. We are, emotionally dumb.

Usually when we have dinners, we go to places that have miserable square/rectangle tables and by the end of the dinner, everyone is at different ends of the table the poor birthday girl/boy has to travel to both sides. So Shalina the genius decided to have a Chinese dinner so we’d have a ROUNNND table! But there were too many of us so they gave us an oval table instead, aiyo same thing la.We ended up going to Reunion in BangsarVillage2 for her dinner. The place is nice, the food is good, but nothing beats South Pac la =p We had our own little enclosed space so it was nice. Anywhos, I like making cards. I think it’s important to make birthdaypeople feel happy with awesome cards. But I’ve made like a million (awesome) paper cards already. So i thought this time I’d do something different. Then Tsen inspired me to make a TOILET SEAT CARD.

After school yesterday I sat down and started decorating the toilet seat (I bought a new one FYI lol) and after twooo long houuuursss…
IT’S AWESOME, I KNOWWW.
She loved it!
Sadly, so did Nick :/

I lalaloved this party la, it was hilarious. EVERYONE of us laughed and laughed and laughed (both the natural AND artificial way!)

Shalinaaa, I hope you had as much fun as I did!
Though I’m pretty sure you did.
Ily (:
xoxo.

Me: You smell likes roses.
Carrie: Are you drunk o.O ?

Kimberly is 17 (: The bunch of us went to Pasta Zanmai on Friday night for dinner. The food there is goood, but if you don’t like the whole fusion pasta+sushi thing then maybe not your kinda place. After dinner, we watched 17Again. I lalalove Zac Efron. He is my secret agent lover man. (: I don’t know what I’d do without him. I wouldn’t sing, probably. The movie wasn’t as awesome as I imagined it to be, but it’s still a reasonably good movie, I would suggest it. Old people seem to like it a lot, I guess everyone wants to be 17Again.
Trust me, you don’t.
I’m looking forward to 71.
Goodnight guys.

And right now I’m beating Yee Hsiong at msn-poker (okay that’s a lie, he’s very competetive and makes it a point to beat me at everything. normal guys let girls win and stuff but yeah, not this one)

Anywhos, remember a year ago?
Supercamp was awesome, as per always (:
A lot of new and old things.
We still had the chocolate.
We still had it in Felda Trolak -.-
The food was still CRAPPY.
So we came well prepared (:
One suitcase filled with food I tell you.

Day1.
We were like a bazillion hours late but once we arrived, we checked into our rooms. SINCE THERE ARE NO ELEVATORS IN THE RESORT, we had to carrry our 1tonne bags up three flights of stairs ;_; horrible I tell you. After lunch, we gathered into our groups.
Vijay, Yee Hsiong, Rajah, Amsyar & I ended up in WTF.
And these were the people I knew. Then there was Iswarya, Chen Lynn, Jen Yeen, Elizabeth, Geetha and Abbhirami (grrr). Amsyar was our group leader :p
Our first activity was the amazing race. Although I loved last years photohunt better, this wasn’t too bad actually. We ran and ran and ran everywhere like mad cows and it was exhausting but I never had such a good time.
In the end, we were fourth place for the amazing race! Tsens group (OMG) got like first. They were the only group who were too lazy to run, so they walked.
And they won first.
I don’t see the justice either.
Anywhos, at night (after showering a million times trying to unstinkyfy ourselves) we had a talk by this guy, Brian Wong. He’s amazing la. We all wrote our goals on a piece of paper and hopefully in one year, we achieve our top5 goals. Some people had hilarious goals
“I want to get my first kiss in a year!”
“I want to be the first man on Mars!”
“I want to get my Datoship!”
“I want to punch Rajahs face!”
okay maybe that last one was mine (; hehe.
AFTER A LOOOOONG NIGHT OF DIGGING DEEP INTO OUR SOULS AND TRYING TO FIND OURSELVES, it was time to go back to bed and sleep.
Pfft, yeah right.
While the boys were insanely getting high on laughing gas and running around making noise annoying everyone, WE had a maggi mee party (:
THEN, we went to sleep.

Day2.
God knows how many times our alarms rang, bahh. We obviously were gonna miss breakfast, but we came prepared! (: Tuna croisonts and packet milo! Turns out, group WTF (Me, Vijay, Rajah, Yee Hsiong) and group OMG (Tsen and Shalina) were together throughout the entire supercamp!
So first we went to the hot springs. It was so hot x_x
So Vijay, Tsen, Shalina and I went straight to the cafe and bought ourselves coke and ice-cream. After half an hour, we were joined by Rotarian Puah and Kevin :p
yadyadayadayada, we had good conversation and bad fries.
After a while it was time to go back to our bus, while passing by the hotsprings we found some that were as hot as 100c and people were BOILING EGGS in it.
And then there was that path with stones and hot water, it was so so so relaxing I can’t even begin to explain la. Damn nice wan (:
We ended up going back to the resort in the car with the Rotarians.

Again after a horrible lunch, it was time for the obstacle course. Usually that’s my favorite bit of supercamp. But this year the facilitators were menopausing or something and it took us AGES to complete it. But guess what? I NEVER FELL INTO THE WATER FILLED WITH DEAD FISH AND TADPOLES, NO I DIDN’T! And my ass never hit the wires when we crawled under the spider web thingy majingy. I ROCK OKAY. (: The obstacle course caused me to walk back to the hotel will a million scars, bruises, cuts and scabs ;_;

At night, after a (horrible) dinner again, a few certain PEOPLE *cough-tsen-resh-vijay-cough* were late.
Their punishment?
Hehe. We then had a little forum and stuff. Ours was very homosexual and funny. Okay maybe more homosexual and less funny. ._. THIS WAS NOT MYYY IDEA. Then at night, we played werewolf till 2am. And then we went to bed (:

Day3.
Yeah,we all love day3 don’t we?
We woke up superlate this time. One milo left for each of us. That was breakfast. First we went for the high-low ropes.
(LiLing has pictures of me stuck up on some obstacle la, when she uploads them onto facebook I’ll edit this or maybe just post a new post, trust me they’re pretty funny :p)
Yeah, we had fun allright.
Day3 was supposed to be the hardest but we were all pretty chillaxed about it.
We ended up skipping jungle trekking. Sooooo tired/sleepy. Tsen, Yue Vern, Darren, Shalina, Vijay and I started to write the scripts for the sketch for our respected groups then.
Theirs was about some rabbit and turtle.
Ours was about a homosexual boy who wanted to become a professional ballerina.
Yes yes, MY idea this time :p
IT WAS HILARIOUS LA OKAYYYYYY.
Vijay was our main character, Gaga.
And Amsyar was Gaga’s better half, Adam Lambert.
It was hilarious la.
I don’t know if someone posted a video somewhere o.o” I hope someone did!

Then, dumdumdidum, surprise surprise “guys now we’re going to have a talk on the environment”
….
*lights go off*
*dancefloor starts*
I didn’t like the dancefloor this year as much as last year :( But I had fun dancing.
AND HOMG GUYS HAVE YOU PEOPLE EVER SEEN BIANCA DANCE?
LIKE WATER YO WHOOOSH.
Okay okay so my homies and I did dance, not as WELL as Bianca but we had a fun time. I love dancing with Karthiik! We caught Vijay dancing. He can dance. I just wish he weren’t so insecure about his dancing (; we’d all have SO much of fun now wouldn’t we?
Then around 12am, we played werewolf.
I LOVE WEREWOLF.
I LOVE BRIAN LOH.
“YOUUU ARE THE WEREWOLF!”
“Why am I the werewolf Brian?!?”
“BECAUSE YOU HAVE FANGS!”
Bahahahaha.
At 2am, Rotarian Puah came up and scolded us.
So we went back to our room.
Then I went to Melissas room.
We played Mafia (like werewolf, less cool).
Then I went back to my room.
I saw the cutest guy ever. Deetra and I went to stalk him. He was also playing mafia upstairs. So we joined them.
At 6am, we stopped palying mafia.
We went to bed.

Day4.
WE WOKE UP SO DAMN LATE NOOOO TIME FOR BREAKFAST!
I found a milopacket under my bed thank God for that!
Yadayadayada, thank you speeches, yadayadayada,
OMG won first place.
Surprise surprise :p
We got fifth!
Which is good.
We got fifth last year too.
Oh wells.

I love supercamp.

Oh yes I do,
xoxo.
